Short answer: for most trips to Vietnam, 10 GB for 30 days is enough, and GoSIM sells it for $11.99. Nomad lists the same size at $17, and Holafly only sells unlimited plans, from $11.90 for 3 days.

Unlimited plans can make sense for a few days of heavy use, but for most trips a fixed 10 to 20 GB plan costs much less.
Networks and coverage
GoSIM Vietnam plans list Viettel Mobile, MobiFone and Vinaphone, Vietnam’s three national carriers. Viettel has the widest rural reach, including the northern highlands and the Mekong Delta. Coverage is good in the places most visitors go: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Nha Trang, Ha Long Bay, Sapa and Phu Quoc. Airalo’s page lists VNPT (Vinaphone’s parent) for its unlimited plans.

- Your QR code arrives by email.
- Scan it under Settings, Mobile Data, Add eSIM. You can do this at home.
- Land in Vietnam and the eSIM connects to a local network.
