Why Egypt costs more

Wholesale data in Egypt is pricier than in Turkey or Thailand, and every provider passes that on. A 10 GB / 30-day plan costs $28 at Nomad, $33 at Airalo and $33.99 at Saily. GoSIM sells the same size for $19.99. For short trips, GoSIM’s 1 GB / 7 days costs $2.99, against $6 at Nomad and $8.99 at Saily. If you need more than that but less than 10 GB, GoSIM’s 3 GB / 30 days at $7.99 and 5 GB / 30 days at $9.99 cover most one-week trips with maps, messaging and some browsing.

Unlimited plans

Holafly sells unlimited Egypt plans starting at $6.90 for a single day, and the price adds up quickly for longer stays. GoSIM’s daily plans start at $2.99 for 1 GB per day and go up to $17.99 for 10 GB per day. After the daily allowance the speed drops, to between 384 Kbps and 1 Mbps depending on the plan, and each plan card shows which. For a trip longer than a few days, a fixed 10 GB or 20 GB plan is almost always cheaper.

Networks

GoSIM’s Egypt plans run on Orange, Etisalat (e&) and Vodafone Egypt. Coverage is good in Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh, and along the Nile Valley. In the Western Desert and on remote stretches of the Sinai you can expect gaps on every network.

Which one should you pick?

  • A week of sightseeing: 3–5 GB / 30 days.
  • Two weeks, or a Nile cruise plus a beach stay: 10 GB / 30 days.
  • Remote work or hotspot for a laptop: 20 GB / 30 days ($33.99).

What else to check before buying

  • Install before you fly: airport Wi-Fi in Cairo can be slow, so scan the QR code at home. The plan starts counting when it first connects in Egypt.
  • Data only: these plans don’t include an Egyptian phone number. WhatsApp calls work normally.
  • Refunds: GoSIM refunds eSIMs that haven’t been activated within 7 days.
  • Unlocked phone: your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
