What a normal trip costs
Thailand is one of the cheapest countries for travel data, and the big providers are close to each other here. For 10 GB / 30 days, Nomad charges $10, Saily $10.99 and Airalo $11. GoSIM sells the same plan for $7.99. For a short stay, GoSIM’s 1 GB / 7 days is $1.99, against $2.99 at Saily and $5 at Nomad. In between there are 3 GB / 30 days for $3.99 and 5 GB / 30 days for $4.99.
Heavy use and long stays
If you work from Bangkok or Chiang Mai, or tether a laptop, GoSIM’s 20 GB / 30 days costs $13.99. There is also a 50 GB / 10 days plan at the same $13.99, which suits a short, data-heavy trip. That one can’t be refunded once bought, so only pick it if you’re sure of your dates.
Unlimited plans
Holafly sells unlimited Thailand plans from $3.90 for one day. GoSIM’s daily plans start at $1.99 for 500 MB per day and go up to $9.99 for 10 GB per day. After the daily allowance the speed drops to between 384 Kbps and 1 Mbps, depending on the plan. For anything longer than a few days, a fixed 10 GB or 20 GB plan works out cheaper.
Networks
GoSIM’s Thailand plans use TrueMove H and DTAC, which merged into one company in 2023 and share a large 4G and 5G network. Many plans also connect to AIS, Thailand’s largest operator. Coverage is strong in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. On smaller islands and in national parks, expect slower speeds on every network.
Which one should you pick?
- A few days in Bangkok: 1 GB / 7 days or 3 GB / 30 days.
- Two to three weeks of island hopping: 10 GB / 30 days.
- Remote work or hotspot: 20 GB / 30 days.
What else to check before buying
- Install before you fly: scan the QR code at home. The plan starts counting when it first connects in Thailand.
- Data only: no Thai phone number is included. Grab, LINE and WhatsApp work over data.
- Refunds: GoSIM refunds unused eSIMs within 7 days, except the 50 GB / 10-day plan.
- Unlocked phone: your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
