Which Travel eSIM Providers Offer a Student Discount? (2026)

Almost every big travel eSIM brand has a student deal: Airalo 15%, Saily 15%, Nomad 25%, Ubigi 20%, Yesim 25% and Holafly 15% on its student page. Most run through Student Beans or UNiDAYS, and most are for first-time customers only. The percentage matters less than the final price. For the 10GB plans we compared, GoSIM comes out cheapest after discounts, with STUDENT10 taking 10% off at checkout once you confirm your university email.

What you actually pay for 10GB over 30 days

A big percentage off a high list price can still cost more than a small percentage off a low one. These are the 10GB, 30-day plans, in US dollars, using competitor list prices from RoamScore and each provider's student percentage. Ubigi, Holafly and Yesim are left out because RoamScore had no matching 10GB plan for them.

ProviderEurope listEurope after discountJapan listJapan after discountTurkey listTurkey after discount
GoSIM$7.99$7.19$7.99$7.19$5.99$5.39
Nomad (25%)$23.00$17.25$16.00$12.00$13.00$9.75
Airalo (15%)$24.00$20.40$18.00$15.30$15.50$13.18
Saily (15%)$35.99$30.59$17.99$15.29$15.99$13.59

Notes: RoamScore listed two Nomad prices for Turkey ($13 and $15). We used the lower one. The Europe rows cover each provider's own Europe plan, so country lists differ. GoSIM's Europe plan covers 31 countries, including Switzerland and the UK, and is valid for 31 days. Student discounts at Airalo and Saily are for first-time customers, so a second purchase may not get the discount.

On these numbers GoSIM is the cheapest in all three destinations, even against Nomad's 25%.

What semester and exchange students need

  • Enough data for a month, repeatedly. 10GB per 30 days covers maps, messaging and light browsing. If you stream a lot, check the bigger sizes.
  • Easy top-ups. You will run out at some point, usually in the middle of an exam week. Pick a provider where you can buy another plan in a minute.
  • A Europe plan that includes Switzerland. Many "Europe" plans skip Switzerland or the UK. If your semester is in Zurich or Lausanne, check the country list before you pay. GoSIM's Europe 31-country plan includes both. More on this in our guide for exchange students in Switzerland.
  • A phone that supports eSIM. Check this before you buy. These are data plans, so use WhatsApp or similar for calls.
  • Know the first-time rule. Several student discounts only apply to your first order. Use it on the plan you need most.

How to use STUDENT10 at GoSIM

  1. Pick your plan (Europe, Japan, Turkey or anywhere else we sell).
  2. Go to checkout and type STUDENT10 in the discount code box.
  3. Confirm with your university email. The 10% comes off, and your eSIM is sent to that email.

You can use the code once per university email, and it doesn't combine with other codes. If you are heading abroad for a semester, grab your plan before you fly, install the eSIM on Wi-Fi, and switch it on when you land.

Bottom line

Airalo, Nomad, Saily, Ubigi, Yesim and Holafly all have student deals, but they start from higher prices. Compare the final number for your destination, not the percentage.
