Before you land
- Ferries. Island hopping runs on ferry apps and booking sites, and schedules change with the weather. Data keeps you current.
- Maps and rides. Google Maps works well. Taxi apps need data to book and track.
- WhatsApp. The default way to reach hosts, hotels and tour operators. Set it up at home.
- WiFi. Hotels and cafes have WiFi, but it drops once you leave. Mobile data keeps maps and tickets working between stops.
- Phone support. You need an eSIM-capable phone that is carrier-unlocked. The quickest check is Settings, then look for “Add eSIM”.
